Kill Them With Kindness Senior citizens can sometimes be the most frustrating customers of all time. I had this one old lady that used to frequent my restaurant daily. She was slowly dying of cancer, and was mad at the world. You could never ask her, “how are you doing today?” If you did she would usually respond with, “I’m dying! How the hell do you think I’m doing today?” She once told one of my employees that he was “fat and going to die too!” She would talk your ear off about her doctors appointments, children, deceased husband if you would let her. But no matter how kind my staff and I would be to her, it was never good enough. We even made her customer of the month and posted her picture in our dining room! YOU STINK! Have you ever had one of those customers that looked like somebody out of a bad zombie movie and smelled like shit on a stick?  I sure have!  The worst customers are not always the ones that complain just to complain, or those that are looking for something for nothing.  Sometimes the worst customers make you want to run away as fast as you can so you don’t vomit all over the service counter or act like you have OCD trying to scrub off the filth that may have invaded your personal space. Miss Mitty was an elder lady with no teeth, and a really bad wig that was always matted and cocked on the side of her head like someone knocked her teeth out and sent her wig spinning around her head and she just left it where it landed.  And she never wore a bra!
